Dull Pain: Not to the ER but to the family doctor. Yes. Seek out health care but this is not a life threatening emergency and does not warrant going to the ER. Please go see your family doctor.

Ovarian cyst vs hern: I think if it is deep it could be an ovarian cyst or less deep a hernia. If it has been there awhile get an appointment with ob/gyn. If its acutes and bothers you go to urgent care
