After Rocephin (ceftriaxone): A series of three Rocephin (ceftriaxone) injections is usually curative for most middle ear infections, although complete resolution can take up to two weeks. Most children experience a decrease in symptoms within a few days. Continued pain or fever warrants re-evaluation to look for another cause, or to determine if referral to ENT is necessary.

May be....: Rocephin (ceftriaxone) almost always cures ear infections. Your child probably has 'serous otitis' some fluid behind the ear drum causing the feeling of pressure and so bothering him. If there in no fever, just watch and wait..it will clear up by itself. If he gets a fever or other symptoms (head ache, vomiting, etc) then have him rechecked

Depends..: I assume the injections were for an ear infection to begin with?Is it the outer canal that you see that's red or do you have skills/tools to see the ear drum?I think if he has a fever in addition to pulling the ear and/or more/new symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea he needs to be seen sooner rather than later. Were these both things he was doing before the Rocephin (ceftriaxone)?May need other class antibiotic...
