Sounds like: Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This can happen to skin after any inflammatory insult including skin infections caused by MRSA. If this is the case you should review treatment options with your doctor. Besides being good about sun protection, treatments based on retinoic acid(sometimes with steroids and hydroquinone), chemical peels, and dermabrasion have been used.
