A member asked:

I've been having small black flecks in my stool for months. can this be attributed to gerd?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not gerd: gerd should not cause black flecks in your stool although if you are taking medication for GERD it may cause your stool to change color. If you notice actual blood or your stool looks like tar or is black in color then it may indicate that you are loosing blood in your stool. You should see your doctor if you are loosing weight or having abdominal pain as well
