Not typically.: GERD does not typically affect the stool either way. However, some antacids, particularly those based on magnesium, such as Maalox and Mylanta, can result in loose stool. If this is the case, using aluminum or calcium-based antacids, such as Alternagel or Tums, (calcium carbonate) can help. Good luck.
