A member asked:

Many tests ordered by cardiologist.he found "atrial tachycardia" on 48 hr holter during symptoms.all other tests good. what does this really mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Abn heart rhythm: Paroxysmal atrial tachycardia is an abnormal heart rhythm propagated by a variety of mechanisms. The HR typically is 170-240 but exceptions occur. It usually causes palpitations and, if prolonged, may cause shortness of breath and/or dizziness. The albuterol you take can precipitate it. It can occur in otherwise normal hearts. Meds or ablation can prevent it.
