Different doctors: May have differing policies. However, in many practices you see the obstetrician after a particular week of pregnancy. For instance, you are 27 weeks, in many clinics you would be seen by the obstetrician for your non-pregnancy health issues as well as pregnancy related concerns. Take care.

Pregnancy: Hi
Congratulations.
Please visit your GP as you need to start on folic acid vitamin tablets.
You need to have a basic examination done and you can ask your GP about any burning questions that you may have.
Your first visit to your gynaecologist can be any where between 6 to 12 weeks to have an ultrasound scan.
Your gynaecologist will then advise you on your follow up visits.

As soon as possible: Congrats! Once you become aware you should establish with an Obstetrician. There might still be primary care physicians that are covering pregnancy, but it is critical to be followed and guided through the process.
