Is there a sign my body will give me to let me know i am burning fat/calories after a workout coupled with a healthy diet, besides appearing slimmer?

No magic signs: No magic signs, other than "keep up the good work." If you eat a healthy diet and burn more calories through exercise than what you take in, you will lose weight. Weigh yourself periodically and you can track your progress. Remember, "slow and steady" wins the race,...you do not have to lose many pounds all at once. Best wishes.

Clothes.: You may notice that your clothes are getting a bit looser. Otherwise, it's your weight and body fat, both of which can be monitored over time.
