Healing/false teeth: It takes about 4-6 weeks for the bone and gum tissue to close and contract into shape after extractions. Dentures may be placed immediatly after extractions. Then as the gums /bone heals, a re-line(3-4 months later) of the inside of the denture is done to make them fit the newly shaped bone.

6-8 weeks: It takes about 2 months for the gums to be ready for dentures, and about 3-4 months for the bone. However, dentures could be placed immediately at the time of extraction; they do not fit as well though.

Adequate healing : You can place denture immediately but idealy you would heal 6-8 weeks after extractions and then start impressions, this will ensure proper fit of your final denture. If you do go with an immediate denture a soft lining can be used to get you through the initial stages of healing and then a permanent rebase of your denture (pink part made new) can be done to improve your fit.
