A doctor has provided 1 answer

Illness in infant: Symptoms of infection in very young infants should be evaluated by your pediatrician. Although most of the infections are viral and not particularly dangerous, complications such as dehydration, apnea, secondary pneumonia, etc. can rapidly develop. Since immunity to pertussis is not present until after the 15 month dose, severe URI symptoms in infants is particularly worrisome.
