Throat: Usually that means silent acid reflux or LPR. Make sure you dont eat late at night and you could try taking an antacid at bedtime. You should see an ENT to check it out

GERD: Sounds like gastresophageal reflux disease. For a start, avoid eating 4 hours before bedtime, and consider sleeping in a slightly upright position, or elevate the head of the bed on blocks. Meds can help, but may need endoscopic Stretta procedure or surgery (fundoplication) depending on clinical scenario. Start with a visit to primary care.
