Sleep apnea: This symptom is typical of sleep Apnea. If you also snore and have excessive daytime sleepiness then a sleep study is certainly a good idea.

Sleep apnea: the symptoms you are describing can be from sleep apnea,you stop breathing while sleeping,thank you so much brain senses your low blood Oxygen so naturally awaken you so you can breath, and when you do , you saliva clearance in interrupted ,makes you feel like you are chocking
