Absolutely: Highly active anti-retroviral therapy usually consists of a combination of several different classes of agents which are inhibitory to hiv. The combinations attack the virus from multiple different biological pathways, make resistance development more difficult, allow restoration of large parts of the damaged immune system, make transmission to others less likely and extends life of patients.
