Yes: It is generally safe to take between 5000-10,000 IU daily without concern. I have never had 5000 IU result in too high a level of Vit. D.

Yes: Taking so much vitamin d is not harmful, but probably not particularly helpful unless you have been shown to be pretty severely vitamin d deficient. Consider seeing a medical doctor and having your vitamin d level checked if you are concerned.

Vitamin D: Hi, has you vitamin D level ( 25(OH)D) been checked? If your number is less than 20 then you need 50000 unit of bit D weekly x 8 wks then 1000-2000 unit per day.
