Toe pain: Depends on what you did. If the toe is just bruised, it should be better in about a week. However if you broke your toe you may take up to 4 weeks to get pain free.

When pain is gone: Bruises can take a few days to a few weeks to resolve. When you can play sports depends upon when the pain resolves. If pain gets worse in any way please see a doctor to make sure there is no broke bone. Ice , rest and elevation will help keep the swelling down.

I hope not toe long.: As long as you are not using your toe in the function of play, you can start immediately. But, if your play activity involves aggressive toe function, you had better wait a while. The waiting time is based on the specific activity and the amount and seriousness of the injury. You might have to play it by ear.
