I had an iud inserted 4 weeks ago. i have severe pelvic pain & bleeding. my dr said it was an infection. ive finished the meds and nothing is better?

I would think that: IUD should be removed first and culture should be taken if there is an available discharge. Antibiotic should be prescibed according to culture and sensitivity test results. Until the treatment is completed a secondary birth control method should be used. Discuss with your health care provicer.
