Venous stasis: the cause of swelling is between inflammation of the joint space leading to "effusion" or fluid in the joint. this happens in arthritis conditions. it would respond to medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen and acetaminophen. Or just water retention caused by poor vein circulation. the fact that there is no pain makes me think venous stasis may be the issue.
