Alcohol use?: Though nausea is a common side effect of Flagyl (metronidazole), severe vomiting is not. However, if you take Flagyl and also consume alcohol, there is an interaction between the Flagyl and the alcohol that can lead to severe nausea, vomiting, headache and flushing of the skin.
