A member asked:

I was treated for trichomonas with a 7 day course of metronidazole if i didnt vomit does one round of treatment normally work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: There are two options for treatment of Trichomonas in a non pregnant female, either metronidazole 2 grams once or 500mg twice a day for 7 days. Either way should be effective if you did not miss any doses. Make sure to notify any partners so they can get treated. However if you continue to have symptoms including yellow/green discharge, vaginal discomfort, you may need to be rechecked.
