Many things.: Could have fluid around the lung, a blood clot, a partial collapse of your lung, pneumonia, or just a strain of your chest. Should probably see your doc and discuss - consider CXR.

See a doctor. : What you are describing might be pleuritic chest pain, caused by inflammation of the lining of the chest cavity. There are many potential causes, some simple and self-limited and some dangerous. Persistent severe pain needs to be evaluated.
