Varies.: There are no adequate reports or well-controlled studies in human fetuses. Propylthiouracil crosses the human placenta. The fetuses of mothers treated with Propylthiouracil are rarely euthyroid, and a fetal evaluation is mandatory. Hydrops fetalis has been reported as a rare complication of fetal hypothyroidism. Aplasia cutis is a rare complication of maternal therapy.
