If you don't feel it: Is gout but your doc does you can definatively confirm by "taping the joint". You don't say what "gout meds" were given to you.... I would see either a rheumatologist or orthopedist.

Gout unlikely: You are young enough to eliminate gout. That is the area where we consider tendonitis or bone pain.Since the area hurts so I am more inclined to consider tendon as the source. Ask you physician to consider tendonitis.
