Depend on stage: In majority cases-in early stage-usually there are no significant symptoms. In more advanced disease-patiemts start to become more symptomatic especially when the cancer starts to spread to distant organ. Symptom may include- flank/abdominal pain, weight loss, anemia, blood in the urine, fever, fatigue/malaise, etc.

See list: Flank pain. Hematuria. Flank mass. Weight loss. Occasionally symptoms of metastatic disease (bone pain). In rare cases unusual syndromes mimicking other medical conditions can be the presenting symptom. These are called "paraneoplastic syndromes". Most kidney cancers in the modern era are detected incidentally or have few if any of the above symptoms.
