Normal Saline drops: Place 2 drops of saline in each nostril. After 1 minute, use a soft rubber suction bulb (short, fat ones are best) to remove the mucous. Squeeze the bulb first. Gently put the rubber tip into one nostril, and slowly release the bulb. You can also use a saline nasal spry. Some older kids won't let you suction, but the saline will still help loosen secretions. http://www.healthychildren.org
