Insulin resistance?: It sounds like you may have a condition called acanthosis nigricans. This condition occurs most often in obesity and diabetes. There is not a specific treatment for the skin problem but treating the underlying condition may help. Rarely it may indicate a more serious condition so it is best if you see a doctor for an examination and blood work.
