A member asked:

Is there anything else with the symptoms of hypothyroidism? menopause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depression: Depression can mimic the tiredness, change from outgoing to withdrawn personality, and weight changes seen with hypothyroidism. It would not usually cause constipation, dry skin, or having longer, heavier periods seen with hypothyroidism. Menopause can cause swings in mood or energy, but not the the chronic tiredness & apathy sometimes seen with hypothyroidism.
