Nerve compression: This grinding could be early arthritis and this can lead to instability in the neck leading to disc herniation and nerve compression which can effect the arms. The cervical nerves can be compressed in the neck and they run down the arms.

See doc: Sounds like a visit to your primary care physician would be a good idea to evaluate lightheadedness. Limited movement of arm and grinding can be arthritis-related, rotator cuff tear in your arm. Definitely need to see your doctor this coming week.
