Patch on one side of my lower gums. i think this could possibly be leukoplakia but it seems too early to already get that, what to do?

Leukoplakia: Please do not try to diagnose your own lesions. See an Oral Surgeon for an evaluation and only if necessary a biopsy will be performed. Patients without professional training and who look to the internet for answers are almost always wrong in their diagnosis and just cause themselves unnecessary grief and concern.

Could oral hairy leukoplakia be caused by chewing a lot of nicotine gum? Tested negative for HIV & rarely get sick/infections, but internet indicates this is almost always due to immune-compromise. Any tests I should request to check immune status?
