Have a diet rich in fruit and vegetables. Vitamin A and beta-carotene supplements by mouth and Isotretinoin supplements, which are more effective than beta -carotene. Always have area checked every 6 months, but Leukoplakia often returns from many of the treatments .Your lifestyle did not cause this, it can occur on its own.

What you described is not a cause for concern for any untoward outcomes in 6 months. You can reduce your risk of cancer by adopting healthy habits: Eat a mostly vegetarian diet, avoid alcohol, tobacco and street drugs, avoid excessive exposure to sun, maintain healthy weight, exercise 30 minutes each day, drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless. Wish you good health!
