A member asked:

My 1 year old daughter have redness in diaper area, i think rash, applied rash cream but its not working even getng worse, this cream always worked?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diaper rashes, yeast: Children are prone to yeast infections in the diaper region as a result of illness, recent antibiotic use, frequent diarrhea or chronic moisture under the diaper or underwear. Its usually appears as red itchy bumps, occassionally with fissures, inflammation and tenderness. These rashes do not improve with typical diaper rash creams (antifungal creams are used for treatment).
