Cholecystitis?: A thick gall bladder wall, with or without stones, may well be cholecystitis. If the pain was primarily in right upper quadrant or mid upper abdomen, I'd be inclined to make this diagnosis. Assoc. symptoms would be back pain,nausea,bloating w gas,maybe fever, and fatty food intolerance. Discuss with your doctor, and stay on low fat until sorted out. good luck.
