Early subclinical?: Hi. It is possible you could have early/subclinical hypothyroidism. Do you have a family history of autoimmune thyroid disease? You could check thyroid autoantibodies (TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies). If antibodies are positive, it would be reasonable to start you on l-thyroxine to get TSH into roughly the 1.0-1.5 range, instead of waiting. You could also repeat TSH and free T4 and is TSH lower.
