Hello i am 27. healthy. bmi 22. female. i received a thyroid tsh level of: 4.12 mclu/ml standard range: 0.34-5.60 mclu/ml my previous tsh level 4 years ago was 1.13 mclu/ml do some doctors see 4.12 as too high? why does it rise?

To answer that it should be understood that tests results are taken into account with the things the patients say, the examination, all lab tests, and all other diagnostic tests. Biotin and stress interfere with TSH results. I would speak to your doctor.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, a rising TSH suggests that you could be developing thyroid deficiency. You doctor should retest you in about 6 months. Wish you good health!
