3 years ago: uncomplicated GERD can be treated without a need for endoscopy. If complicated GERD should get endoscopy and biopsy. If Barret's esophagus (BE) is present, endoscopy should be repeated in ONE YEAR. If two endoscopy and biopsies are normal within one year, then endoscopy can be done every THREE years
