Yes,Body fluids: It is not known how long one is contagious after symptoms gone but it may take up to 18 months.Epstein-Barr virus which causes mono stays in the body for life but you are not contagious for life.You got it from body fluids:saliva,mucus(kissing),tears,drinking glass,eating utensils..etc Should you tell your girlfriend?It would be the right thing to do given the above information.

It depends: when did you have mono? Was this recently (last 2 weeks or so) or are you talking about a long time ago? If you had mono a while ago then no, your girlfriend will not get mono. You probably contracted mono from somebody else who had it back when you got it.
