ALS symptoms: People with ALS have a painless, progressive weakness. It may start in the muscle between the thumb and index finger (the first dorsal interosseous muscle or FDIH). Normally, their symptoms occur throughout the body, although they can be worse in both arms, or both legs, or in the face, etc.
