A member asked:

I keep having muscle spasms in my right hand in between my thumb and index finger. its been happening all day for about a week. ive tried resting the muscle, heat, drinking more water. what could be the cause? no pain - hand just keeps locking up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Carpal spasms may be caused by deficiency of calcium, magnesium, potassium . It can occur as a result of overuse of those muscles. Tetanus would be a rare cause. Apply heat, stretch& massage the muscle, drink gatorade, take calcium & magnesium. See your MD or a neurologist if not improved.
