Predisposition: There are some cancers (i.e. certain breast cancers) that are associated with a strong genetic predisposition and some more related to environmental factors (i.e. lung cancer from smoking). Emerging research suggests that many of the genes that may predispose one to cancer can be modified through certain health-promoting behaviors, a field known as Epigenetics.
