A member asked:

Can you explain result of biopsy: normal colon mucosa with mild infiltration of pigment-laden macrophages, ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Melanosis coli: It sounds as though you are describing an entity called Melanosis Coli. This is a finding on colon biopsies of patients who are chronic and/or long term users of common laxatives. It has no clinical significance and is not associated with subsequent malignancy.
