Two separate issues: That is a very complex question with multiple answers there could be bone damage , nerve injure , adjacent teeth injure , angulation problems with implant placement , soft tissue problems etc. My best advice have your doctor evaluate your specific issue and give options with pros & cons . If tooth is savable with rct then do rct no needed to extract tooth unless rct is not recommended ?

RCT and Implants: In the hands of an experienced and competent dentist both procedures have a very high success rate. Typical complications are infection and possible failure. It is best to have all your questions answered by a dentist who has personally examined you and has x-rays of your teeth and supporting structures. Pros, cons, complications, prognosis and recommendations should be discussed before treatment
