Burning pain: and weakness can be caused by many conditions. Ask the neurologist what they think is causing the problem. If you don't feel comfortable with the answer get a second opinion.

From elbow up?: Some things are difficult to diagnose. if the numbness is in a so-called cape distribution including shoulders and upper arms and trunk , it is called central cord syndome of the cervical spinal cord.
