Lactose breath hydro: gen test is the most accurate way to know if you are lactose intolerant. If you are lactose intolerant it is possible the load of lactose in the food can play a role in your symptoms. You may be able to tolerate small amounts of lactose. Ice cream has a lot of fat and it is possible that it is the fat contect in ice cream that is the issue. Consider a lactose breath hydrogen test for diagnosis
