Is my son lactose intolerant? i'm asking because after my son drinks mill, within minutes he throws up. no temp, no cough! acts normal until he drinks milk. he also refuses to eat cheese. however, he eats things that have milk in them. he is 19 months.

Would : Would discuss this with your pediatrician who could refer you to a pediatric gastroenterologist if that is the diagnosis and it needs to be confirmed.

Lactose : Lactose intolerance typically causes cramping, bloating, diarrhea, and gas. Immediate vomiting after milk leads me to think he might have a milk allergy. Most kids with milk allergies outgrow them, but some can become worse over time and kids with one food allergy might be predisposed to others. Knowing his risks can help introducing new foods. Talk with his doctor about this.
