Yes: bacterial vaginitis can be frustrating. It may have more to do with other factors than infection such as the Ph of your fluid and the phase of the cycle although the infecttion part was properly treated

Yes: The strains of e.Coli that cause travelers diarrhea can be treated with the antibiotics Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or rifaximin. Antidiarrheal can be taken for symptoms. In the past there was some concern that antidiarrheals would prolong the infection, but that does not seem to be the case.

Safe antibiotics: Most of the time obstetrician give medications that are safe. Certain infection at different stage of pregnancy can cross placental barrier. Do not take any medication with out consulting your md.

Sure: Yes, not all people will get the std that their partner had, but very risky and not to be counted upon. Protect yourself always and if concerned about exposure - get tested asap!
