SIBO: Small bowel bacterial overgrowth is not a common condition and not everyone with IBS has SIBO and the same goes not everyone with SIBO has IBS. An imperfect test...: Opinions on SIBO testing are varied, and many doctors do not have SIBO testing equipment in their office. A 2007 article summarizes the situation well. "The diagnosis of SIBO is controversial. There is substantial disagreement in the literature regarding which test is the most appropriate." In my practice, I only send 1:10 for testing.
