SIBO: Small bowel bacterial overgrowth is not a common condition and not everyone with IBS has SIBO and the same goes not everyone with SIBO has IBS. The symptoms of both conditions are pretty much the same but like I said not everyone with SIBO has IBS in the era of cost containment in medicine because health insurance do NOT want to pay for tests very unlikely you will be send for a test on an uncommo

An imperfect test...: Opinions on SIBO testing are varied, and many doctors do not have SIBO testing equipment in their office. A 2007 article summarizes the situation well. "The diagnosis of SIBO is controversial. There is substantial disagreement in the literature regarding which test is the most appropriate." In my practice, I only send 1:10 for testing.
