Difficult to pass: The size of the stone makes it difficult to pass. Drink a lot of water, and add a medication called flomax (tamsulosin) may help.

Here are some ...: A 8-mm ureteral stone is much less likely to pass by itself. Despite this, most ureteral stones can be just watched as long as being afebrile with bearable discomfort. However, one has to be alert to watch for possible superimposed infection, especially in those with prior history of recurrent UTI, uncontrolled diabetes, etc. So, ask and talk with the doctor when, where, & how to take actions.
