A member asked:

Had sciatic pain in buttock off and on for 10+ year each time it last for a week or so can goes away what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sciatica: Sciatica can be caused from a variety of conditions. Most commonly, a ruptured disc causes impingement of the nerve root. Sacroiliac joint inflammation can mimic a herniated disc too. Try anti-inflammatory medication, ice, and stretching. If the pain persists for more than a week then seek attention with a neurosurgeon or neurologist to determine the cause of the sciatica and formulate a treatment
