No reason for alarm.: The lymphocytes are elevated within the upper limits of normal. This most likely represent a viral illness, and the swollen lymph node is one way our body traps the virus to prevent its spread inside the body. The node will remain swollen, sometimes for a few weeks and then returns to its normal size. If it gets larger, or does not go away, or if more swollen nodes appear, he needs to see his MD.
