Eustachian tube: This sounds like eustachian tube dysfunction. Plugging, popping and pain from swelling in the eustachian tube may be from inflammation, allergies, infections and on rare occasions tumors, cysts or polyps. Treatments such as nasal steroid sprays or decongestants may be helpful. Persistent symptoms need to be evaluated by an otolaryngologist.
