Levels?: Magnesium and Calcium are important divalent cations. Blood levels can be obtained from your physician. Magnesium levels should be between 1.8 and 2.2. (a fairly narrow range). You may want to discuss zinc supplementation with your doctor as well. A balanced diet in the absence of kidney disease, malabsorbtion, metabolic bone disease or Vitamin D deficiency should usually suffice.
